The role of an independent expert in the litigation process is a vital one. Yet, there are those who disparage experts by referring to them as "hired guns" or "opinions for rent." Unfortunately, a few bad apples can tarnish the reputation of those who fulfill this important role in an honest and appropriate manner.
Summit Professional Resources LLC maintains the highest of ethical standards in all our efforts and demands the same of all those associated with our firm. We do not align ourselves with either the plaintiff or defense Bar. We evaluate each matter in the same way: as independent explorers of the facts relating to specific questions involved in that matter. Summit has no vested interest in the outcome. We present the opinions of our specialists in a non-judgmental manner using plain language that Clients, Jurors (and even Judges!) can readily comprehend. We charge and are paid for our time and experience: nothing more, nothing less.
The experts associated with Summit have been interviewed extensively and their background experience verified. Most of our experts are still active in their respective specialty areas. Some are retired, while others are very active in consulting efforts. Each inquiry is discussed with the expert(s) before a contract is sent to the client. Professional conflicts are ruled out to the extent possible at the outset of a matter. We turn down many matters based on the descriptions given to us for various reasons. If we cannot legitimately support an argument that a client wants to make, or if we do not have someone on our staff who is qualified to address the key issues, we will not take on the matter.
Summit Professional Resources LLC maintains these high standards for our clients' and our own peace of mind. Among the many details within a litigation matter, your expert's integrity is the last thing you should have to worry about.
